Die Erleichterung und Freude war allen Beteiligten deutlich anzusehen, als die Pommernkogge heute, 21. Dezember 2019, endlich in den Ueckermünder Heimathafen einlief. Mehrere Monate war sie in der Werft. Nun sind auch die letzten Anforderungen erfüllt und der historische Nachbau kann im nächsten Jahr richtig genutzt werden.
Die Überfahrt zeigte schon jetzt die gute Manövrierfähigkeit des Schiffes. Mit an Bord waren ehrenamtliche Crewmitglieder, Kapitän Werner Löwe und Torgelows Bürgermeisterin Kerstin Pukallus. Sie alle haben viel Kraft in die Fertigstellung des besonderen Projekts investiert. Immerhin 2001, also vor 18 Jahren, fand die Kiellegung der Kogge in Torgelow statt.
Auch der Ueckermünder Vize-Bürgermeister Sven Behnke begrüßte das Schiff im Heimathafen und war froh, dass es doch noch vor Weihnachten geklappt hat. Es wird wieder seinen Platz im Wendebecken finden und sicher von dort aus im kommenden Jahr regelmäßig in See stechen.
